Industrial design is a really broad field of study. Professors can't (and don't) really teach everything, they just show us what is out there and then we go after what we are interested in. To me, one of the areas of industrial design has been altogether neglected in our curriculum is (innovative, interesting, and meaningful) packaging. Packages have a huge potential to impact the consumer-product experience. After all, when you go into a store to buy something you interact with the package long before the product.
